Good News for 501(c)3 Arts Organization Seeking Funding

Arts donors are able to roll-over their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to your Arts organization.  Congress has retroactively extended—from January 1,
2010 to December 31, 2011—the law that permits direct tax-free distributions ("rollovers") from qualified IRAs to nonprofit organizations. Also, donors may
be able to treat gifts made in the month of January 2011 as if they were made in 2010.  Donors should consult with their attorney or financial advisor to
determine the tax consequences for their individual situation.

Certain requirements apply to charitable IRA rollovers:
Donor must be at least 70 1/2 at the time they make the gift.
The contribution must be made directly from their traditional or Roth IRA to your Arts organization..
The distribution may not exceed $100,000.
Donor cannot receive any non-tax-deductible benefits from your Arts organization in exchange for their gift.
